On 24 September a ceremony was held to mark the near completion of the extended dangerous goods storage area at Contargo Rhein-Neckar’s Ludwigshafen Terminal. This milestone was duly celebrated, together with the partner firms involved.
The extension increases the dangerous goods storage capacity at the terminal from a previous 430 to a total of 730 places. The additional storage area is a significant step towards meeting the growing demand of the chemical industry in the region.
This enlargement is taking place in close coordination with the tank container cleaning facility of Joint Ventures Multimodal Tank Care that recently went into operation. The cooperation between cotac and Contargo makes it possible to provide optimal conditions for trimodal container handling in Ludwigshafen. Not only does it reduce non-availability times due to container cleaning, repair and maintenance work; it also offers the chemical industry in the region an efficient and sustainable logistics solution.
