On 16 May 2024, Jürgen Albersmann, CEO of Contargo GmbH & Co. KG, was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport (UIRR). On 14 May a ground-breaking ceremony marked the official start of construction of the container terminal in the inland port of Straubing-Sand. The terminal will be operated by Contargo Combitrac Straubing-Sand GmbH, a joint venture of container hinterland logistics network Contargo, SFI GmbH and the Ziegler Group.
