As one of the first enterprises worldwide, Contargo took delivery of 20 of the first serially produced battery-driven electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Trucks on 20 December 2024. The vehicles will go into operation straight away at various locations of the container hinterland logistics network for container transport between port and customer.
Contargo has extensively revised the price calculation system IMTIS (Intermodal Tariff Information System) and has successfully put the new version online. With a modern user interface and extended functions, the tool now offers customers even more comfort and clarity.
In close cooperation with Contargo Combitrac and Tchibo, JCL Logistics is starting the first fully-electric local container transport between Hof (Bavaria) and Cheb (Bohemia).
On 24 September a ceremony was held to mark the near completion of the extended dangerous goods storage area at Contargo Rhein-Neckar’s Ludwigshafen Terminal. This milestone was duly celebrated, together with the partner firms involved.
On 24 September 2024 at the trade show Shipping Technics Logistics 2024 (STL Kalkar), Rhenus PartnerShip and Contargo received the “Innovationspreis Binnenschifffahrt 2024” for their sustainable concepts in barge construction and trimodal transport. The prize is awarded by Allianz Esa GmbH and the specialist journals “SUT Schifffahrt und Technik” and “Binnenschifffahrt”.
