The High Water situation on the Rhine is now becoming less acute. The water level is going down at most of the gauges; only on the Upper Rhine are levels still rising slightly.
At present, average waiting times for the handling of our barges in the seaports are:
Antwerp: 35 hours
Rotterdam: 27 hours
On the Upper Rhine, the water level at the Maxau Gauge peaked on Sunday afternoon at 8.29 m, one of the highest levels in 5 years. On Tuesday, the Worms Gauge on the Upper Rhine is expected to reach levels approximating to a 10-year high.
Due to heavy rainfall, with the forecast of more heavy rain and thunderstorms to come, there is increased danger of High Water on the Rhine.
