From Monday, 8 January 2024 the German Farmers’ Federation (DBV), together with the regional Farmers’ Associations and the LsV-Deutschland, are calling for a Germany-wide “Action Week”. This will cause substantial hindrances on many roads throughout Germany.
Due to substantial precipitation in the catchment area of the Middle Rhine tributaries, their water levels rose to the level of a 2-year flood on Tuesday and are expected to continue rising. Consequently, a flood wave in the Rhine will also be fueled by the inflows from the Nahe, Lahn, Moselle, and Sieg rivers.
