The High Water situation on the Rhine continues to improve today, water levels are decreasing almost everywhere.
On the Upper Rhine the water levels have peaked. On the Middle Rhine, too, they have either reached their peak values or will do so by around Wednesday afternoon (today).
Once the peak levels have been reached, levels will decrease again. On the Lower Rhine the maximum gauge levels are expected in the course of today and tomorrow, and in the night from Thursday to Friday.

Kaub (section between Lorch – Bad Salzig) – Closed from 04.06. 13:00 pm. Closed until 05.06. 14:00 pm – 04:00 am 06.06.*
Bingen (section between Eltville – Lorch) – Closed from 04.06. 02:00 am. Closed until 06.06. 06:00 am – 18:00 pm.*
The lock at Kostheim is closed until further notice due to high water.
Maxau (section between Iffezheim – Germersheim) closed from 01.06. 16:45 pm. Closed until 07.06. 00:00 – 06:00 am*
*Due to the changing dynamics and uncertainties of the rain forecast, no reliable predictions regarding peak water levels (maximum water levels to be expected in this high water episode) can be calculated at present for many gauges covered by the forecasts of the Flood Forecasting Centre (HVZ).
