*We use CO₂e instead of just CO₂: Compared to CO₂ the unit CO₂e also includes the climate impact of 6 other greenhouse gases, such as nitrous oxide and methane. These greenhouse gases are between 25 and 22800 times more damaging to the climate than CO₂ and therefore we also include them in in our climate balance for the greatest possible transparency.

For Contargo, there is no question of simply compensating our CO2e emissions! With econtargo, our green product created for you, we offer you the first one-stop shop solution for the transport transformation – the zero emissions way!

The transformation to emission-free goods transport can only be achieved by technological change. For this reason, we use electric trucks, barges with electric motors and rail connections driven by green electricity.

by using e-trucks and e-barges with hybrid drive technology, as well as green electricity for rail and in the terminals.

Remaining emissions

At present our remaining emissions only constitute 6 %*. These are mainly well-to-tank emissions. We are making great efforts to constantly reduce this percentage.

* The percentages given represent average values for avoidance and maximum values for reduction, compared in each case to transport over the same distance by direct trucking with diesel-driven trucks.

econtargo, Contargo’s emission-reduced product, offers the first one-stop shop solution for the transformation – flexibly bookable, with planning reliability. Altogether 90 fully electric trucks perform the “last mile” transport (pre- and on-carriage) of your goods. They are powered by green electricity drawn directly from 90 fast charging points installed at 16 locations. The main run is by rail or by barges with electric motors.

Thus econtargo saves up to 94 % CO₂e compared to transports by conventional direct trucking.
